Boats and Barracks (5 miles)

This route is for those looking for a shorter day of hiking but a wide variety of activities and sites.

Meet at Hamilton at 8:30 where you will be picked up and taken to Grotto Bay Beach resort.

Weather permitting you will start the day with a kayak to Blue Hole Nature Reserve. Before being given a lift accross the bay in the Boston Whalers which are the most popular boats on the island.

Back ashore we will work our way through Ferry Point Park towards the quant town of St George’s.

Here you will have some time to explore the town and enjoy a lunch on the Wharf.

Fully fuelled you will traverse to the point of the island at Fort st Cathryns. Your day will finish with a swim and drink at the famous Tobacco Bay where you will be fetched and transported back to your accommodation.
